Three years passed.
We continued living our simple life, growing stronger together with each passing day.

My mother showed up.
She stood at the door, the same confident woman I remembered—but something about her had changed. There was hesitation in her eyes, something I had never seen before.
She stepped inside and looked around.
The house was modest, but clean and warm. There were drawings on the fridge. Laughter echoed from the living room. Life was present in every corner.
Then she saw him.
The little boy ran toward me, full of energy, smiling without hesitation.
“Dad! Look what I made!”
He handed me a drawing, proud and excited.
For the first time, my mother didn’t speak.
She simply watched.
