Panicking Mike Johnson warns a midterm loss would be ‘the end of the Trump presidency’
It comes as Republicans, and those closest to President Donald Trump, have started to slightly panic as the 2026 midterm elections are drawing ever closer due to a string of election losses
Speaker of the House Mike Johnson issued a shocking warning that, should the Republicans lose the midterms, it could be a sign that Trump’s presidency is over.
Appearing on Newsmax, the House speaker commented that Trump needed “all four years” of his time in office to get done what the American people need. “He needs all four years, not just two, to fix the mess,” Johnson stated.
“And that’s what we need,” he added. “If we lost the midterms, heaven forbid, if we lost the majority in the House, it would be the end of the Trump presidency in a real effect.”

“So we’ve got to keep this going, and I think we’re excited to put our candidates on the field to explain all this to the people,” Johnson added. Responses to Johnson’s comments on social media varied.
“Dems need to just run this clip over and over and over again through the midterms,” one person commented. A second person joked that he “shouldn’t be threatened with a good time.
