Daniel suddenly stood up.
“Ben, sit down. This isn’t the time.”
I looked at Daniel.
“What were you doing in my bedroom?”
The room became so silent that I could hear the kitchen clock ticking.
Mike slowly turned toward me.
“What did you just say?”
I placed my phone on the table and showed him the photograph.
My husband stared at the screen for several seconds.
Then his face went pale.
“Where did you get this?”
“Someone just sent it to me.”
Daniel covered his face with one hand.
“Sarah, I can explain.”
“Then explain! Why are you sitting on our bed? And whose hand is that beside you?”
He said nothing.
At that moment, Ben whispered.
“That’s not Sarah’s hand.”
I froze.
“What?”
“That ring isn’t Sarah’s. It’s a duplicate.”
Mike slammed his fist against the table.
“Ben! That’s enough!”
But Ben was already standing.
