Part 2: My millionaire husband left me nothing in his will after 48 years of marriage except a note with an address — when I arrived there, what I saw made me fall to my knees.

"How much is missing?"

He exhaled.

"Our preliminary review suggests over six million dollars in questionable transfers."

My knees weakened.

"Six million?"

"Possibly more."

I looked at Thomas's photograph on the mantel.

The same smiling face.

The same kind eyes.

How much had he carried alone?

Nathan continued.

"My father was collecting evidence before he died. He believed someone close to him was involved."

"Raymond?"

"That's what he suspected."

I closed my eyes.

"Then why didn't he report him?"

"We don't know if the investigation was complete."

A long silence followed.

Then Nathan said something unexpected.

"Margaret, when was the last time Thomas visited the old store?"

I thought back.

"About three weeks before he died."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes. He told me he was looking for old contracts."

Nathan said nothing.

"Why?"

"Because according to the security records, he went there again."

My heart skipped.

"When?"

Nathan's voice lowered.
