Part 2: My millionaire husband left me nothing in his will after 48 years of marriage except a note with an address — when I arrived there, what I saw made me fall to my knees.

“What happened?”

“Raymond's lawyers have submitted additional material.”

My stomach tightened.

“What material?”

“An old letter from Eleanor.”

I closed my eyes.

Celia continued.

“He claims it proves that Eleanor knew Julian was his biological son and that Thomas deliberately concealed the relationship.”

I stared at the photograph of Raymond.

For the first time, I understood the full cruelty of what he was doing.

A man who had refused to acknowledge his own child was now using that child to try to take money from the woman whose husband had helped raise him.

And I decided, right then, that I was finished being frightened of Raymond Ward.

CHAPTER 6: THE MAN WHO ABANDONED HIS SON CAME FOR MY FORTUNE—BUT HE HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS ABOUT TO DO

The next Saturday, I had lunch with Julian and Lucy.

I had barely slept the night before.

Not because I was afraid of Raymond.
