The doctor looked at me.
“Yet the person listed as accompanying her to these appointments is named Robert.”
I felt as though my heart had stopped.
“That’s my father.”
The doctor remained silent for a moment.
Then he said:
“In that case, we’ll need to speak with him as well. But before we do, there’s something you need to know.”
He opened another document.
I read the first two lines.
Suddenly, my legs began to give way.
Everything went black before my eyes.
I lost my balance and collapsed to the floor.
As the nurse rushed toward me, I kept repeating the same words:
“Oh my God… Did my father know everything from the very beginning?”
A few minutes later, I was sitting on a chair at the hospital.
The doctor handed me a glass of water.
“Sarah, try to calm down. Your mother is safe for now.”
